Hello. My name is Karen and I started Homestead Upholstery in 2014 which later became Homestead Creative in 2025. I graduated from university in 1999 and then spent 14 years working for a big IT corporation where I was very lucky to meet my lovely husband. I knew the job wasn't for me so after the birth of my second son I took voluntary redundancy and trained to become an upholsterer. Homestead Upholstery was born and I have never looked back!

 

Homestead Creative is a small business based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. The company name was inspired our Edwardian house name 'The Homestead'. I am passionate about beautiful fabrics, colour and design!

 

My business has evolved over the years and I no longer do any reupholstery. I specialise in making handcrafted bespoke footstools and textile art. They are handmade by me using quality materials and fabulous fabric. ​
